How we got here.

Scott, Terri, and Danny each came to the work from a distinct place inside the life of the church.

Scott Austin spent decades serving as a pastor and church planter, walking alongside leaders as they navigated the opportunities and complexity of ministry. Terri Pease served churches through the often unseen work of administration and financial stewardship, believing that healthy systems create space for healthy ministry. Her growing interest in and pursuit of spiritual direction brings another dimension to that care: creating attentive space for leaders to listen for God and attend to their own formation. Danny Phillips served as a pastor while asking deeper questions about how churches are formed and how leaders might faithfully cultivate healthier communities.

Through the Contextual Theology program at Northern Seminary, their stories began to interweave. There they found shared language for convictions that had each been growing quietly for years.

412 Project grew out of that shared discovery: every church has a particular story, the formation of leaders cannot be separated from the shared life of a congregation, and healthier churches are cultivated over time.
